History

A special thanks goes out to Mom and Dad for their love, support, and my name: Alley-Oop. It was a nickname when I was growing up. Thanks, love ya, you are within my heart and thoughts every day. "Bump a nose!"

I became active in clowning in 1998 but have been a clown wannabe since I was young. Dad was a clown at the church for the socials and I would perform with my ventriloquist puppet, Jerry Mahoney. I loved puppets and still have most of the puppets from my childhood.

In 1973, I wanted to go to Clown College, but joined the Army instead (real clown, for sure!) and I put clowning off for a while.

In February of 1998, by pure chance, I found myself shopping in Brentwood, NH and came upon Clown Supplies: suppliers to clowns since 1977. It was the rubber chicken and suitcase (their logo) that got my attention. I walked in and the rest is history.

It was magic. I knew this was what was missing in my life. "J" the clown (Jon Hubbard) was working and we talked. I went home determined that I would finally become a clown. That March, the World Clown Association held their international convention in Lowell, MA and I attended. That was the birth of "Alley-Oop the Clown".

I worked hard and attended many conventions and classes in order to become the best clown I could. I attended clown, balloon, and puppet conventions. I have won Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals in Single Skit, Multiple Skit and Paradability competitions.

I love to see children and adults smile and this brings me great joy. I love clowning and hope to meet you soon.

I perform at birthday parties, store openings, company functions and any special occasion. Alley-Oop performs with puppets, comedy clown magic, and balloon sculptures.

Thanks, have a good day, and I hope to see you soon!

Your special friend,
Alley-Oop the Clown
